Shown here at the 2002 National Specialty, handled by Deb Duffert, Fillan has been a joy from the very beginning. Like his brother Falstaff, Fillan is a big boy. Growing up at Cu Liath, however, he is also an athlete. Known variously as Fillan the Friendly Fella, Fillan the Fairly Fast and Frequently Famished, Fillanacious Good Gracious, and the Clown Prince, no one can resist Fillan!
Many people say that the big Deerhounds don't hold up well. Fillan is a clear counterexample! At eight years old, he is still lure coursing enthusiastically, and competing in agility. In fact, he finished his NAJ title in February 2009, aged 8 years and 3 months.
