Ghillie is shown here winning an Award of Merit at the 2004 AKC Invitational.
Ghillie was a dream dog. He was Lillie's only puppy, but she gave us a good one: a Group Winner, a Best In Field lure courser, and a National Race Meet winner. He's a keeper! In addition to being a handsome runner, Ghillie also showed himself to be an excellent stud dog. His first litter was a singleton, sired while he was at the 2002 National Specialty (where he won the bred-by class). He made up for the small size of his first litter by siring a litter of 13 (plus two stillborn), out of our Hoosie. Our "J" litter, they have begun to show the same sort of promise as their father, winning race meets, Best in Field at lure trials, and earning numerous accolades in the conformation ring! One of his daughters is our Best-In-Field and Best-In-Show DC Cu Liath Jynx SC GRC SOR VC. He followed up with another singleton, CH Cu Liath Lady of the Lake SC (also a group winner), out of Hallie.
At the 2009 Specialty, Ghillie won the Stud Dog Class, and was a member of the winning team, along with half-brother Fillan, and sons Beau and Jedburgh. Sadly, he became ill on the way home, and died suddenly. He was a wonderful, gallant hound, and much missed.
